Srinagar, October 5, 2026: The Sadat Safvi family of Tarabal, Nawa Kadal, in the Shaher-e-Khaas, is mourning the passing of Syed Afzal Safvi, son of the late Syed Muhammad Yaseen Shah Safvi of Tarabal, Nawa Kadal, Srinagar. He passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at his residence following a brief illness.
People from different walks of life participated in his Namaz-e-Janaza, held at Eidgah Park and led by Dr. Aga Syed Mudasir Rizvi. They also visited the bereaved family and expressed their condolences. The deceased was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard at Gulistan Baba Mazar, Zadibal, Srinagar.
Syed Afzal Safvi had served as an Excise and Taxation Officer (ETO) in the Government Excise and Taxation Department. His demise has left the Sadat Safvi family and the wider public deeply saddened. He was remembered by those who knew him for his humility, simplicity and cordial nature.
He is survived by his wife, son Syed Aijaz Safvi, owner of Safvi Xperts, and a daughter wife of Afaq Alam Khan.
He was also the younger brother of Syed Jaffar Hussain Safvi and Syed Zahoor Hussain Safvi, and the uncle of Syed Shafat, Syed Ishrat and Syed Juvail.
According to family sources, a congregational Fateha Khawani will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at 7:00 a.m. at the family’s ancestral graveyard at Gulistan Baba Mazar, Zadibal, Srinagar. Thereafter, a daylong condolence gathering will be held at Dar-ul-Safvi, Tarabal, Nawa Kadal, Srinagar, where relatives, friends and members of the community will assemble to offer Fateha and prayers for the departed soul.
The Valley Observer team also held a condolence meeting and expressed heartfelt sympathy with the bereaved family, particularly with Syed Aijaz Safvi, owner of Safvi Xperts.
The passing of Syed Afzal Safvi has left a deep void in the hearts of his family, relatives, friends and members of the wider community. The community mourns the loss and extends its sincere condolences to the bereaved family.
May Allah (SWT) elevate his soul among the righteous and grant Sabr (patience), strength and fortitude to his bereaved family.
