Srinagar, April 27: The Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar has successfully recovered and returned 30 missing smartphones worth lakhs of rupees to their rightful owners. To enhance public service and address grievances, the Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar is now accepting applications and reports from the general public regarding missing cell phones.

The dedicated technical team of the Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar has been relentless in their efforts, successfully tracing 30 missing smartphones of various makes and models worth lakhs of rupees. These devices were promptly returned to their rightful owners today at the Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone, Srinagar.

In addition to tracing missing mobile phones, the Cyber Police Kashmir Zone, Srinagar, continues to assist citizens with various technological challenges encountered in their daily lives, including addressing online frauds, scams and other cyber-related crimes reported in the Cyber Police Station Kashmir Zone, Srinagar on a routine basis.

Under the guidance of the Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, the Cyber Police Kashmir has initiated various awareness campaigns and programs to educate the public about contemporary online frauds and scams. Police busts notorious gang of burglars in Ganderbal; Stolen property worth lacs recovered

Ganderbal, April 06: Police in Ganderbal have busted a notorious gang of burglars and recovered stolen property worth lacs. Besides, arrested 03 accused persons involved in the commission of crime.

On 22/03/2024, Police Station Gund received a written complaint from a person namely Tajamul Hussain, owner of Hung Park Restaurant, stating therein that during intervening night of 21-22/03/2024, some unknown persons have broken locks and barged into his restaurant, and have stolen valuable items like Generator, Two Inverter Units, Transformer, Coffee Machine, Griller/Toaster, Gas Stove, Gas Cylinders, Utensils, Electric Cables and damaged CCTV Cameras and other items.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.11/2024, under relevant sections of law was registered at PS Gund and investigation was entrusted to a Special Police team under the supervision of SDPO Kangan Shri Muzaffar Jan-JKPS.

After strenuous efforts and by taking the technical support, the Special Police team of PS Gund led by SHO PS Gund zeroed in on few suspects and started to hunt them. In the process, suspect namely Irshad Ahmad Kalwatho son of Ab Rashid Kalwatho resident of Naninara, Sumbal was apprehended and during sustained questioning, he admitted to have committed the crime and also disclosed the identity of the other accomplice accused persons namely Feroze Ahmad Kalwatho son of Farooq Ahmad Kalwatho and Mohd Saleem Kalu @Jana son of Abdul Khaliq Kalu, both residents of Naninara, Sumbal, who were subsequently arrested.

On their disclosure, the stolen property worth lacs were recovered from different spots at Naninara, Sumbal.

During further questioning, additional stolen property was recovered which unveiled the non-reported theft cases in the JD by this notorious gang. Moreover, a Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK01M-6083 used in the commission of crime has also been seized.

Further investigation is going on. More arrests and recovery of stolen property is expected.

General Public has hailed the swift action of J&K Police in nabbing the burglars & hoped that culprits involved in such crimes will be dealt strictly under law.

Police solves theft case in Budgam, accused arrested

Budgam, April 04: Police in Budgam have solved theft case by arresting an accused person and recovered stolen property from his possession.
Police Post Soibugh received a complaint from one lady who is a resident of Soibugh stating there in that some unknown persons have barged into her house and stole cash and golden ornaments. Upon this information, a case vide FIR No. 103/2024 under relevant section of law was registered at Police Station Budgam and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, several suspects were brought for questioning. During questioning, one suspect identified as Furqan Ahmad Malik son of Manzoor Ahmed Malik resident of Soibugh admitted his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure, stolen cash of Rs 6,500/- were recovered from his possession. He has been arrested in the instant case and further investigation is going on.
Our consistent actions against anti-social elements should reassure the community members that we are making every effort to keep our society free of crime. Police has resolved to act as per law against those who indulge in criminal activities.

Police registers FIR against a ‘rumour monger’ in Pulwama

Pulwama, March 27: Police station Rajpora has registered FIR against a rumour monger namely Sameer Ahmed Paray son of Ab Rasheed Parray resident of Kanikoot CB Nath. The said person has recently uploaded a false post on his fake Face book ID “Babar Azam” in which he has uploaded a photo depicting Arms and ammunition and has claimed that a new one from Pulwama has joined militancy. The said person has been found circulating incriminating content on social media there by disrupting public peace and tranquillity.
In this regard a Case FIR No 23/2024 u/s 505(b)/IPC has been registered in Police Station Rajpora and investigation set into motion.
General public is requested to abstain from posting any false content on social media. Strict action will be taken against any person found involved in posting malicious content on internet.

Police solves theft case in Ganderbal within hours; 02 held, stolen property recovered

Ganderbal, February 05: Police in Ganderbal have solved a theft case with in hours by arresting 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime. Stolen property has also been recovered from their possession.
Yesterday during evening hours, Police Station Ganderbal received information through reliable sources that some unknown thieves had entered the residential house of Gh Mohd Sofi son of Noor-Din Sofi resident of Patipora Saloora and taken away some jewellery & cash.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 18/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated.
On the directions of SSP Ganderbal, a special police team was constituted under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS lead by SHO PS Ganderbal. Acting swiftly, a special police team after strenuous efforts and with the help of technical inputs & CCTV footage, apprehended two accused persons identified as Imran Ismail Bhat & Umar Shafi Gilkar, both residents of Tailbal Hazratbal.
During preliminary investigation, officers learnt their involvement in the commission of crime. On their disclosure, stolen jewellery including 01 Golden Ring, a pair of Golden Ear Rings, a Golden Badge & cash amount of ₹13,000 have been recovered from their possession. Vehicle (Amaze Car) bearing registration number JK01AT-1953 used in the commission of the crime has also been seized.
General Public hailed & appreciated the efforts of Police for swift action & solving the theft case within two hours. People are requested to cooperate with J&K Police & share inputs of criminals present in the society so that action under law shall be initiated.

Police solves 02 theft cases in Pulwama; Accused arrested, stolen property worth lacs recovered

Pulwama, January 31: Police in Pulwama solved 02 theft cases in Pulwama by arresting accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lacs from their possession.

On 30/01/2024, Police Station Pulwama received a complaint from Abdul Majeed and Ghulam Rasool Dar, stating there in that unknown thief/thieves under the cover of night entered the apple orchard and stole various items. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 19/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered and investigation was initiated.

During the course of investigation, officers zeroed in on one suspect identified as Arif Hussain Dar son of Abdul Khaliq Dar resident of Chakoora Arigam. During questioning officers learnt about his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure the stolen items have been recovered.

Meanwhile, during the course of investigation of another theft case FIR No. 334/2023, one accused identified as Bashir Ahmad Sheikh of Ladermad Awantipora was apprehended, leading to the recovery of stolen items related to the said case FIR which includes 06 Samawars and 14 Copper Plates.

Police solves theft case in Budgam, accused arrested; Stolen property worth lakhs recovered

Budgam, January 14: Police in Budgam have solved a theft case by arresting one accused person and recovered stolen property worth lacs from his possession.

On 12/01/2024, Police Station Magam received a written complaint from some shopkeepers of Magam Market that their shops had been burgled during the intervening night of 11th & 12th January 2024 and goods worth lakhs were stolen besides, vehicle (Tata Sumo) bearing Reg. No JK04-9558 was also stolen. On receipt of this information, a case vide FIR No. 03/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Magam and investigation was taken up.

During the course of investigation, some suspects were rounded up and some leads were followed resulting in the arrest of one accused identified as Himayat Hussain Mir son of Mohd Hussain Mir resident of Yagipora Magam. During the analysis of CCTV footages, it was observed that the vehicle was taken towards Pattan-Sopore axis. Subsequently, teams were sent to various locations and the vehicle was traced near Hygam Sopore. Goods worth lakhs alongwith vehicle have been recovered.

Further investigation of the case is going on and some more arrests and recoveries are expected.

Community members have lauded the efforts of police for cracking/solving the case at its earliest. Police in Budgam urges the public to install CCTV cameras as per directions of the District Magistrate.

Police busts drug module in Anantnag; three arrested; Huge consignment of contraband substances recovered

Anantnag, January 12: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, police busted a drug module by arresting three members of a family in Anantnag and recovered huge consignment of contraband/ psychotropic substance from their possession.

Police in Anantnag received an information through reliable sources that a family comprising (Father, Mother and Son) namely Mohd Ramzan Ganai son of Gh Rasool Ganie, Shahzada Akhter wife of Mohd Ramzan Ganie and Zubair Ramzan Ganai son of Mohd Ramzan Ganie, residents of Seer Hamdan Mattan under a well-planned criminal conspiracy are continuously indulging in illegal trade of illicit alcohol as well as of cannabis charas powder. Reliable sources also revealed that the trio has concealed huge quantity of illicit alcohol as well as illicit cannabis charas powder in specially made hideouts in their residential house, Swift Dzire Car, Baleno car and Motor Cycle.

In this regard, a case FIR No. 04/2024 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Mattan and investigation was initiated.

Accordingly, a search team comprising of Anantnag Police and Executive Magistrate concerned raided the spot. During search of the house, police party recovered about 9.27 Kgs of Charas powder and 867 Bottles of illicit alcohol which was seized on spot. All three accused persons were arrested. Vehicles Swift Dzire, Baleno car, KTM Motorcycle and cash amount of Rs. 13325 (believed to be proceeds of narcotics) was seized. Further investigation in the instant case is going on.

Community members are requested to come forward with any information regarding drug peddling in their neighbourhood. Persons found indulging in drug peddling will be dealt as per law. Our consistent actions against drug peddlers should reassure the community members that we are making efforts to keep our society free from the scourge of drug menace.

Police busts marriage scam in Baramulla, fraudster arrested

Baramulla, January 01: Police have busted a marriage scam by arresting a fraudster in Baramulla.

Police Post Delina received a written complaint from a resident of Hudpora Khaitangan stating therein that his brother’s marriage ceremony was scheduled to be held on 31st of December, 2023 and they were supposed to get the bride from Thana Mandi Rajouri. However, the families don’t know each other and are in touch through the middle man namely Sharif Ahmad Gaasi son of Ali Mohd Gaasi resident of Kakapora Pulwama who is not responding to their phone calls.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation was initiated.

Acting promptly, a Police party of Police Post Delina after hectic efforts and with the technical help, the said person was traced out from Srinagar. During preliminary investigation, it came to fore that the said person has fraudulently cheated the said family on the pretext of marriage and has illegally grabbed an amount of Rs 1.18 lacs.

He has been arrested and was shifted to Police Station Baramulla where he remains in custody.

Further investigation of the case is going on.

Police busts marriage scam in Baramulla, two fraudsters arrested

Baramulla, November 23: In a significant breakthrough, Police in Baramulla have successfully arrested 02 persons involved in a marriage scam, following a complaint filed by Gh Mohammad Bhat, a resident of Dessa Doda.
Police Post Mirgund received an application from Ghulam Mohammad Bhat son of Mohammad Shareef Bhat resident of Dessa Doda A/P Srinagar, stating therein that he has been fraudulently cheated by one person namely Mohd Qasim Bhat son of Gh Mohammad Bhat resident of Gund Ibrahim, Trikolbal Pattan, on the pretext of marriage and has paid an amount of about Rs 1,50,000/- to the said fraudster. Furthermore, the victim alleged that when he sought the recovery of the amount, the accused person Mohd Qasim Bhat resorted to intimidation and threats of dire consequences.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation was set into motion.
During the course of investigation, a police party of the Police Post Mirgund, through rigorous efforts, successfully tracked down and arrested the primary accused Mohd Qasim Bhat. Moreover, his accomplice brother, namely Nisar Ahmad Bhat, was also apprehended in connection with the case. Both accused persons have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Further investigation into the matter is ongoing, and the police encourage individuals who may have fallen victim to similar scams to come forward and report such incidents to the nearest police station.
