Srinagar, May 2: The Directorate of Colleges under the Jammu and Kashmir Higher Education Department has announced the commencement of admissions for the academic session 2026–27 for Four-Year Undergraduate Programmes (FYUGP) and Five-Year Integrated Postgraduate (PG) programmes with multiple exit options.
Admissions will be conducted across 142 government degree colleges in the Union Territory, offering over 60 major subjects across a wide range of academic disciplines. Selection will be based on merit secured in Class 12 (10+2). Subject combinations will vary from college to college and will be made available on the centralised admission portal during the preference-filling process.
Admission Schedule
The online registration process will open on May 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM and close on May 27, 2026, at 7:00 PM.
First Merit List (Round 1): May 30, 2026
Admission Formalities (Round 1): June 1–6, 2026
Second Merit List (Round 2): June 9, 2026
Admission Formalities (Round 2): June 10–15, 2026
Spot Round (Vacant Seats): June 18–25, 2026
Classwork will begin on June 15, 2026, for winter zone colleges and July 15, 2026, for summer zone colleges.

Applicants are required to upload scanned copies of the following documents (PDF/JPG format, not exceeding 1 MB each):
Class 10 and Class 12 marksheets
Recent passport-size photograph
Aadhaar number
Domicile certificate (if available)
Category certificate (if applicable)
The authorities have clarified that certificates under process or pending approval will not be accepted.
