Bashir Ahmad Sheikh is no more

Fateha on Sunday

Srinagar: Bashir Ahmad Sheikh, son of late Mohammad Jawad Sheikh of Mohalla Syed Afzal Sheribhat here, passed away on Wednesday at SKIMS Soura after a brief illness.

The deceased, an ex-president of the Hussaini Khidmatgar Committee of Syed Afzal Mohalla, was also well known as an Islamic and social activist.

All walks of life participated in his Nimaz-e-Jinazah (funeral prayers), led by Aga Syed Adeel Murtaza Al-Mosvi Al-Safvi.

Abdul Qayoom Rather, active president of the Hussaini Khidmatgar Committee, said that Sheikh’s contribution to the Hussaini Khidmatgar Committee is unforgettable. He always spoke to the committee members about brotherhood, peace, and prosperity”.

Tanveer Ahmad Rather, a local resident, said that “Sheikh was a pious, kind-hearted, down-to-earth, and staunch believer of Ahlebait (as)”.

His congregational Fateha Khawani will be held on July 9 at their graveyard at Mohalla Syed Afzal, opposite Government Girls Higher Secondary School Zadibal, Srinagar, at 7:00 a.m. After that, a daylong condolence meeting will be held at Iqbal Khomani Hall at Mohalla Syed Afzal.
