Police solves theft cases in Ganderbal, 3 accused arrested

Ganderbal, May 19: Police in Ganderbal have solved theft cases by arresting 3 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
In the jurisdiction of Police Post Shadipora, complaints from different areas were floating constantly regarding thefts of Angular Iron fitted in the fields, orchids of farmers for demarcation & fencing purposes etc. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law were registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation was initiated.
On receipt of this information, SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS constituted a special Police team led by incharge PP Shadipora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal Shri Gh Hassan-JKPS. In a quick & swift action, the Police team busted a gang of burglars involved in the commission of the crime & multiple theft cases were solved by recovering a huge quantity of stolen Angular Iron on the instance of arrested burglars. The arrested accused have been identified as Arif Ahmad Saaid S/O Gulzar Ahmad Saaid resident of Narayan Bagh, Tariq Ahmad Mir son of Gh Mohd Mir resident of Trigam & Mudasir Ahmad Guroo son of Mehraj Ahmad Guroo resident of Narayan Bagh. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
During the investigation, it came to fore that the stolen material was kept hidden by them under stagnant water near Chinar Bagh Narainbagh. Moreover, 01 Load Carrier bearing registration number JK01M-3868 used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Community members have lauded the efforts of police for cracking/solving the cases. Our consistent actions shall assure community members that Police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.

Police solves burglary case in Shopian, 05 arrested; Stolen property worth lacs recovered

Shopian, May 18: Police in Shopian have solved a burglary case by arresting 05 person involved in the commission of crime. Stolen property worth lacs have also been recovered from their possession.
On 03/05/2023, Police Station Shopian received a written compliant to the effect that during the intervening night of 15-16/04/2023, some unknown burglars have stolen 11 sheep (hybrid type).
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.68/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Shopian and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, investigating team developed human/technical inputs and accordingly several suspects were detained for questioning. During questioning, officers learnt the involvement of five suspects in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Nisar Ahmad Malla son of Ghulam Rasool Malla, Gulzar Ahmad Mir son of Abdul Qadoos Mir, both residents of Check Sangdan Imamsahib Shopian, Sheeraz Ahmad Hajam son of Mohammad Abdullah Hajam resident of Watoo Kulgam, Sajid Gulzar Ganie son of Gulzar Ahmad Ganie resident of Akalmir Khanyar Srinagar and Irshad Ahmad Ganie son of Mohammad Shafi Ganie resident of Rozbal Khanyar Srinagar.
During further questioning, officers also learnt of their involvement in several other burglary incidents at different locations of Anantnag, Awantipora, Kulgam and Pulwama areas.
On their disclosure, stolen property worth lacs including vehicle Tata Mobile bearing registration number JK18-0124, vehicle Taveera bearing registration number JK03C-1249 and 03 sheep were recovered.
Further investigation of the case is going on.

Police solves theft cases in Kulgam; 4 accused arrested

Kulgam, May 10: Police in Kulgam have solved theft cases by arresting 4 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
On 02/05/2023, Police Station Kulgam received a written complaint from Altaf Hussain Mir son of Ali Mohd Mir resident of Qadirpora, Bungam Kulgam stating therein that his vehicle Maruti-800 was stolen by some unknown thieves during the night hours from Astan Gali Kulgam. Similarly, on 06/05/2023 another written complaint was received by Police Station Kulgam from Suhail Ahmad Wagay son of Gulzar Ahmad Wagay resident of Goripora Mohalla, Kulgam stating therein that during the intervening night of 21/22 April 2023 unknown thieves have stolen Batteries of his vehicle and other vehicles near Jamia Masjid Kulgam. Accordingly, cases vide FIR numbers 87/2023 and 91/2023 under relevant sections of law were registered in Police Station Kulgam and investigation was taken up.
Taking cognisance of the matter, Police intensified its patrolling and surveillance activities to put stop on these burglaries and accordingly, a team headed by SHO Kulgam under the supervision DySP Hqrs Kulgam was constituted. Subsequently, some suspects were zeroed in on in these cases and 4 among them confessed their involvement in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Mujeeb-ur-Rehman @Faheem Sofi son of Abdul Rahman Sofi resident of Astan Mohalla Kulgam, Danish Ahmad Ahanger son of Ghulam Nabi Ahanger resident of Reshipora Kulgam, Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohd Dar resident of Redwani Kulgam and Aashiq Hussain Lone son of Abdul Rashid Lone resident of Naibasti Qaimoh.
On their disclosure, stolen property including Maruti-800 and 04 batteries were recovered from their possession. Further investigation in the case is in progress and more recoveries & arrests are expected.

Police arrests 6 drug peddlers in Budgam; Contraband substances & cash recovered

Budgam, May 5: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have arrested 06 drug peddlers in Budgam and recovered contraband substances & cash from their possession.
A Police party of Police Post Soibugh during naka checking at Nadigam crossing intercepted a vehicle (Innova) bearing registration number JK05D- 9350 with 03 persons onboard. During checking, 33.50 grams of charas like substance and cash amount of Rs. 32,030/- was recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Mohd Umer Doom son of Ghulam Ahmad Doom resident of Chairhaar, Shahbaz Shafi Dar son of Mohd Shafi Dar resident of Mirpora and Sajjad Hussain Rather son of Mohammad Issaq resident of Sofi Pora Soibugh.
Moreover, in another action at Chewdara near Maripora crossing, a police party of Police Station Beerwah arrested 02 persons alongwith 55 grams of charas like substance and 240 Spasmo-Proxyvon plus tablets. They have been identified as Gulam Nabi Bhat son of Khazir Mohamad Bhat and Athar Sadiq Najar son of Mohamad Sadiq Najar residents of Chewdara.
Similarly, officers from Police Station Khansahab during naka checking at Raithan intercepted a suspicious person. During search, 80 grams of charas like substance was recovered from his possession. He has been identified as Moomin Ashaq Mir son of Ashiq Hussain Mir resident of Jawalapora Budgam.
All the accused persons have been arrested and shifted to respective police stations where they remain in custody. Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered at respective police stations and further investigation has been initiated.

Police arrests 07 gamblers in Baramulla, stake money seized

Baramulla, May 03: Acting tough against the social crimes, police in a series of actions have arrested 07 gamblers in Baramulla and seized stake money from their possession.

Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities at Sultanpora Pattan, a police party of Police Post Wussan raided the specific spot and arrested 03 gamblers. They have been identified as Gh Hassan Khanday son of Mohd Sultan resident of Wazpora Naidkhai, Mohd Younis Dar son of Gh Rasool resident of Arampora Sumbal & Ishfaq Ahmad Najar son of Mohd Abdullah resident of Anderkot Chan Mohalla Sumbal. They have also seized stake money of ₹ 4,820/- and playing cards recovered from their possession.

Similarly, a police party of Police Station Pattan raided a gambling site in the orchards of Buran Pattan and arrested 04 gamblers. They have been identified as Gh Mohd Rather son of Gh Mohidin Rather, Mohd Ashraf Sofi son of Gh Qadir Sofi, Mohd Sadiq Khan son of Sonaullah Khan, Manzoor Ahmad Bhat son of Ali Mohd Bhat, all residents of Buran Pattan. Officers have also seized stake money of ₹ 5,460/- and playing cards from their possession.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

Police arrests 02 fraudsters in Handwara

Handwara, May 03: Police in Handwara have arrested two fraudsters for defrauding a shopkeeper & recovered the property fraudulently gained by them.
On 30/04/2023, Police Station Handwara received a complaint from a shopkeeper to the effect that two persons purchased some electronic items from his shop at Handwara Market and fled from the shop without making any payment.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 99/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Handwara and investigation was initiated.
Acting swiftly, following leads developed during investigation including statements of witnesses and technical evidences, the accused persons involved in the commission of crime were arrested. They have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir son of Mohd Yousuf and Noor Mohd Khan son of Wali Mohd Khan, both residents of Zaloora Sopore.
On their disclosure, electronic items fraudulently taken by them including 01 refrigerator, 01 washing machine, 01 solar panel and 01 inverter battery were recovered.
Further investigation into the case is going on to ascertain further involvement of the accused persons in other criminal cases.

Police books 04 notorious drug smugglers under PIT NDPS Act

Baramulla, May 02: Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have booked 04 notorious drug peddlers under PIT NDPS Act, besides two (02) notorious thieves have also been booked under PSA for their involvement in many cases, in Baramulla.

The four notorious drug peddlers are identified as Habeel Yaseen Dar @ Rouf son of Mohd Yaseen resident of Tarhama Kunzer, Ab Rehman Malik @ Rehman Military son of Ghulam Mohammad resident of Kalantra Payeen Kreeri, Shahnawaz Ahmad Mir @ Boja son of Matwali Mir resident of Daragutliyan Uri & Hafeez Ahmad Khan son of Mohd Abass resident of Rehsiwari Niloosa Baramulla. They have been booked under PIT NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority & subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Balwal Jammu.

Its pertinent to mention that many cases are registered against these drug peddlers and they were involved in promoting drug trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Kunzer, Kreeri Wagoora, Uri, Bijhama and other areas of District Baramulla. Despite their involvement in many FIRs, they did not mend their activities and were again involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth.

The two notorious thieves are identified as Syed Zaffar Shah @ Zaffar son of Mohd Muzaffar Shah & Fida Hussain Khanday @ Fida son of Gh Mohammad Khanday, both residents of Devar Yakhmanpora Baramulla and were detained under Public Safety Act by Police after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent Authority and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot Bhalwal Jammu.

Its pertinent to mention here that many cases are registered against these thieves and were involved in theft cases in Pattan area of District Baramulla. Despite their involvement in many FIR’s, they did not mend their activities.

Consistent actions of Police against the criminals should reassure the community members that police is making all efforts to eradicate social evils and making all efforts to keep our society free from drug abuse.

Police arrests 2 persons involved in kidnapping of 02 minor girls in Baramulla

Baramulla, May 01: Police have arrested two accused persons for their involvement in kidnapping of two minor girls in Baramulla.

Police Station Sheeri received a written complaint from Abdul Rehman Beigh son of Abdul Rahim Beigh stating therein that his two minor daughters were kidnapped by Mohd Aqib Dar and Rayees Ahmad Lone, both residents of Pehliharan. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 38/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Sheeri and investigation was initiated.

During the investigation of the case, police acting promptly arrested both the involved accused persons and rescued the minor girls. Both the accused persons have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody. After completing all necessary legal formalities, the victims were handed over to their legal heirs.

Police has expressed its strong commitment to ensure that the accused face the full extent of the law for their heinous acts. They are conducting further investigations into the case to ensure that justice is served.

Police arrests 05 gamblers in Ganderbal, stake money seized

Ganderbal, April 30: Acting tough against social crimes, Police in Ganderbal have arrested 05 gamblers and seized stake money from their possession.

Acting on specific information about gambling activities at Bakoora, a police party of Police Post Nagbal headed by IC PP Nagbal under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal raided the specific site and arrested 05 gamblers on the spot. They have been identified as Ab Rashid Bhat son of Gh Rasool Bhat resident of Pathan Mohalla Dargah, Bashir Ahmad Kambay son of Ab Gani Kambay resident of Astanpora Tailbal, Imtiyaz Ahmad War son of Mushtaq Ahmad War resident of Bakoora War Mohalla, Mohd Rafiq Baba son of Mohd Altaf Baba resident of Dargah Baba Mohalla and Feroz Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Rashid Bhat resident of Bakoora Bhat Mohalla.

Police have seized stake money of ₹23,390/- and playing cards from the gamblers. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 113/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and investigation has been taken up.

Police arrests 3 gamblers in Baramulla, stake money seized

Baramulla, April 28: Acting tough against the social crimes, police have arrested three gamblers in Baramulla and seized stake money from their possession.

Acting on specific information regarding gambling activities at Bandi Balla forests, a police party of Police Station Chandoosa raided the specific spot and arrested the 3 gamblers who tried to flee from the spot. The have been identified as Maqsood Ahmad Beigh son of Saifullah Beigh resident of Sultanpora, Ab Hameed Ganie son of Ghulam Qadir resident of Rajpora and Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh son of Ghulam Hassan resident of Dudbugh Chandoosa. However, one of the gamblers identified as Ab Majeed Sheikh son of Ab Jabbar Sheikh resident of Dudbugh managed to flee from the spot and efforts are on to nab the accused.

Officers have seized stake money of ₹13,140/- and playing cards from their possession. They have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Chandoosa and investigation has been initiated.

People found indulging in criminal activities shall be dealt as per law. Community members are requested to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with the local police units.
