Baramulla, August 10: Police in Baramulla have solved a burglary case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property worth lakhs from his possession.
On 02/07/2023, Police Station Baramulla received a written complaint from Zahoor Ahmad Bazi of Mohalla Syed Kareem Baramulla stating therein that during intervening night of 1st-2nd July 2023, some unknown burglars barged into his mobile shop and have stolen mobile phones.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Baramulla and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, with the help of technical & human resources, investigating team zeroed in on one suspect identified as Showkat Ahmad Bhat son of Gh Hassan Bhat resident of Mir Sahib Old Town Baramulla.
During questioning, officers learnt about his involvement in the commission of crime. On his disclosure, stolen mobile phones worth 1.5 lakh was recovered from his possession.
Community members have lauded the efforts of police for cracking/solving the case. Our consistent actions shall assure community members that Police have resolved to act tough against individuals involved in any kind of criminal activities.

Ganderbal, August 09: Police in Ganderbal have solved a burglary case by arresting 3 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
On 30-07-2023 Police Station Safapora received a written complaint from one Nisar Ahmad Mir son of Gh Ahmad Mir resident of Kumar Mohalla Safapora stating therein that during the intervening night of 29/30-07-2023 some unknown burglars have barged into his house & looted Cash worth lacs. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 29/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Safapora and investigation was initiated.
On receipt of this information, SSP Ganderbal Shri Nikhil Borkar-IPS constituted a special Police team led by incharge SHO PS Safapora under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Ganderbal. After hectic efforts and with the help of technical resources, 03 suspects were brought for questioning. During questioning, they admitted their involvement in the commission of crime. They have been identified as Bilal Ahmad Guroo son of Abdul Rashid Guroo resident of Sheikhzoo Shilwat, Hilal Ahmad Reshi son of Mohd Ramzan Reshi resident of Pahlipora Safapora & one juvenile (name withheld).
On their disclosure, stolen money of Rs.5,85,000/= (Five Lakh Eighty-Five Thousand Rupees Only) & 01 Cell Phone have been recovered. The two accused were taken into the Police Custody & one accused juvenile lodged in Juvenile home DPL Ganderbal. Further investigation into the matter is going on. More arrests & recoveries are expected.
Baramulla, August 03: Police in Baramulla have solved a burglary case by arresting 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime besides, recovered stolen property from their possession.
On 31/07/2023 Police Station Kunzer received a written complaint from Abdul Razak son of Late Gh Mohammad resident of Gonipora Kunzer stating therein that during intervening night of 30-31/07/2023, some unknown burglars barged into his residential house and stolen jewellery. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kunzer and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers with the help of technical and human resources, zeroed in on two persons identified as Bilal Ahmad Lone son of Gh Mohd Lone & Ashan Jeelani Wani son of Ghulam Jeelani Wani, both residents of Gonipora Kunzer.
During questioning, both the accused persons confessed their involvement in the commission of crime and on their disclosure, stolen jewellery was recovered. They have been arrested and shifted to police station where they remain in custody.

4 arrested, stolen property recovered
Baramulla, July 21: Police in Baramulla have busted gang of burglars/motorcycle lifters in Pattan by arresting 04 accused persons involved in the commission of crime and recovered stolen property from their possession.
On 14/07/2023 Police Station Pattan received a written application from John Mohammad War son of Ab Ahad War resident of Palpora Pattan stating therein that some unknown thieves have stolen his Motorcycle bearing registration No. JK05E-8826 on 07/07/2023 when he kept his Motorcycle parked in front of his shop situated at Jamia Mohalla Pattan and went to offer Friday prayers and on return, he found that his Motorcycle was missing and had been stolen by some unknown thieves. Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 231/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated.
During the preliminary course of investigation, some suspects were zeroed in on and during questioning, one suspected person identified as Mohd Abbas Daint son of Mohd Ayoub Daint resident of Kusambagh Hakbara Hajin Bandipora confessed that he has stolen a motorcycle. During further questioning, he disclosed that he has also stolen 03 other Motorcycles and was supplying the same to one person identified as Sajad Ahmad Pahloo son of Mohd Ramzan Pahloo resident of Madwan Hajin, who was assigned to change the parts of these stolen Motorcycles and after making modification in Motorcycles he was selling them. Subsequently he was also arrested in the instant case.
During further course of investigation, names of two other persons identified as Lateef Ahmad Fafoo son of Gh Ahmad Fafoo resident of Gund Prang Madwan Hajin and Sajad Ahmad Wagay son of Mohd Maqbool Wagay resident of Gund Prang Madwan Hajin surfaced, who were subsequently arrested in the instant case.
On their disclosure, all the stolen motorcycles were recovered from Gund Prang and Madwan Hajin Bandipora.
Further investigation in the case is going on and more arrests & recoveries are expected.
Baramulla, July 20: Police in Baramulla have solved a burglary case by arresting an accused person involved in the commission of crime.
On 15/07/2023, Police Station Pattan received a complaint from one person namely Farooq Ahmad Bhat son of Ab Jabbar Bhat resident of Wailoo Pattan stating therein that some unknown burglars barged his Kiryana shop situated at Wailoo Pattan during Friday prayers and have stolen Edible oil & other Kiryana items.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 232/2023 was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, officers with the help of technical and human resources, zeroed in on one suspect namely Sajad Ahmad Bhat son of Mohd Ramzan Bhat resident of Wailoo Pattan. After thorough questioning, he confessed his involvement in the commission of crime.
On his disclosure, all the stolen property including edible oil & Kiryana items were recovered from his possession.
Baramulla, July 20: Police in Baramulla recovered an abducted girl and arrested 02 accused persons involved in the commission of crime.
On 01/07/2023, Police Post Palhallan received a written complaint from one person (name withheld) stating therein that his daughter aged about 19 years was missing from home since 30/06/2023.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No. 222/ 2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan and investigation was initiated.
During the course of investigation, it came fore that some unknown persons have abducted the said missing girl. During further investigation, officers with the help of technical evidences learnt that the accused persons along with victim had left UT of J&K for New Delhi.
Acting promptly, a team was constituted who accordingly went to New Delhi where from the abducted girl was recovered and the accused persons have also been arrested. They have been identified as Ashiq Ali Mangral son of Mohd Akram Mangral resident of Tuli Reasi & Deep Kumar son of Sadha Ram resident of Chalabeni Kathua.
After completing the legal formalities, the abductee was handed over to her legal heirs.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
Baramulla, July 13: In a significant crackdown on illegal activities, Police in Baramulla have arrested a shopkeeper from Palhallan for his involvement in the unauthorized sale of petroleum products at exorbitant rates.
A police party under the supervision of SDPO Pattan Shri Mohd Nawaz-JKPS, assisted by Incharge Police Post Palhallan arrested a Shopkeeper identified as Mehraj Din Mir son of Ghulam Mohiuddin Mir resident of Tantraypora Palhallan who has been found involved in selling of Petroleum products illegal on exorbitant rates at his shop located at Palhallan Pattan, Baramulla. During search, 187 litres of Petrol/ Diesel was recovered from his shop. He has been shifted to PS where he remains in custody.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Pattan and investigation has been initiated.

Baramulla, July 06: Police in Baramulla have arrested 02 eve-teasers for harassing a girl at Zanana Park Khawajabagh.
Police Station Baramulla received a written complaint from one person (name withheld) stating therein that the two persons namely Aqib Salam Bhat @Ponty son of Abdul Salam Bhat & Yasir Ahmad Bhat son of Fayaz Ahmad Bhat both residents of Fatehpora Baramulla harassed/molested one girl (name withheld) at Zanana Park Khawajabagh and fled from the spot after committing the crime. In this regard, a case under relevant sections of law was registered in Police Station Baramulla and investigation was initiated.
On receipt of this information, a police party led by SHO PS Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla Shri Altaf Ahmad-JKPS raided at the various suspected spots. After the strenuous efforts, both the involved persons were arrested and have been shifted to police station where they remain in custody.
Further investigation of the case is going on.
Baramulla, July 05: Police in Baramulla have busted a sex racket and arrested 06 persons.
Police received an information through reliable sources that some persons are involved in immoral activities in a rented house near Bus Stand Baramulla. Acting upon the information, a Police Party led by SHO PS Baramulla under the supervision of DySP Hqrs Baramulla busted the prostitution racket. The racket was run by a tenant identified as Lateef Ahmad Chechi son of Mohammad Younis Chechi resident of Malangam Bandipora, besides, Altaf Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Kralhar Baramulla, Khurshid Ahmad Chechi son of Abdul Rashid Chechi resident of Malangam Bandipora, Manzoor Ahmad Khan son of Saifuddin Khan resident of Qazi Hamam Baramulla and two female sex workers (name withheld) were also detained.
Accordingly, a case vide FIR No.136/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Baramulla and further investigation has been initiated.
Police once again requested the netizens to do tenant verification before given their Houses/rooms/shops on rent.
BARAMULLA, June 29: Acting tough against the drug smugglers and to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society, Police have attached properties worth lakhs of drug smugglers in Baramulla.
Police party led by SDPO Pattan assisted by SHO PS Pattan under the supervision of SSP Baramulla Shri Amod Ashok Nagpure-IPS, attached an under construction house on land measuring 10 marlas at Main Mohalla Pattan belonging to drug Smuggler namely Barakat Ali Main son of Mohammad Maqbool Main resident of Mian Mohalla Pattan after obtaining legal sanction from competent authorities. The said house was linked to case FIR No. 84/2023 under section 8/22 NDPS Act of Police Station Pattan. The investigation proved that the said immovable property was raised/ used for illicit trafficking by the drug Smuggler.
Similarly, Baramulla Police led bySDPO Kreeri Shri Khalid Ashraf-JKPS assisted by SHO PS Kreeri attached vehicle Hyundai i10 bearing registration number DL2AE-2820 belonging to Abdul Rehman Malik son of Ghulam Mohd resident of Kalantra Payeen after obtaining legal sanction from the competent authorities. The said vehicle was linked to case FIR No 33/2023 under section 8/20, 29 NDPS Act of Police Station Kreeri. The investigation proved that the said movable property was used for Illicit Trafficking by the drug Smuggler.
People showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship.
