JAMMU, NOVEMBER 24: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha on Monday visited the Commando Training Centre (CTC) of Jammu Kashmir Police at Sunjwan, Jammu.
The Lieutenant Governor reviewed the training programme on various specialized modules and other activities conducted during the training courses. He was briefed on the operational preparedness, specialised counter-terror and tactical training to the trainees.
The Lieutenant Governor also interacted with the J&K Police personnel undergoing training at CTC.
SSP, Training and Special Operations gave a detailed presentation on various components of training and proposed upgradation and infrastructure expansion of the centre.
The Lieutenant Governor was accompanied by Shri Nalin Prabhat, Director General of Police; Shri S.J.M. Gillani, Special Director General (Coordination), PHQ J&K; Shri Chandraker Bharti, Principal Secretary, Home Department; Shri M.K Sinha, ADGP Headquarters and Director SSG; Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP, Jammu; Shri Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and other senior officials.

Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor; Shri Bhim Sen Tuti, IGP, Jammu; Shri Ramesh Kumar, Divisional Commissioner, Jammu; M. Suleman Choudhary, IGP Traffic; DIGs, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs of Jammu Division.
The Lieutenant Governor congratulated the Jammu and Kashmir Police for its meticulous investigation and quick response in dismantling the Pan-India Terror Network.
“Our 360-degree approach to counter-terrorism with massive crackdowns on terror financing, narco-terror links, Over Ground Workers (OGWs), and sympathizers is focused on dismantling the entire support structure to terrorists. Our coordinated efforts will ensure that the remnants of terror ecosystem are completely wiped-out from Jammu Kashmir,” the Lieutenant Governor said.
The Lieutenant Governor directed the officials to remain vigilant and watchful of emerging security challenges.
The Lieutenant Governor emphasised on Zero Tolerance Policy against terrorism and asked the officials to take strongest possible action against terror sympathizers, OGWs and terror elements who are trying to radicalize youth.
He directed the officials to intensify intelligence-led operations against terrorists and concerted efforts to monitor digital platforms being used by terror outfits for radicalization and funding.
Shopian, November 23: Continuing its stringent drive against traffic violations, Police in Shopian have intensified enforcement across the district to ensure road safety and promote responsible driving habits. During the ongoing campaign, hundreds of two-wheelers and four-wheelers have been seized and challaned for various violations, including lack of proper documents, rash driving, triple riding, driving without helmet, overloading and other offences under the Motor Vehicles Act.
Special checkpoints and mobile teams were deployed at key locations to check compliance, verify documents and take immediate action against violators. The drive aims not only to enforce traffic rules but also to reduce the risk of accidents and safeguard the lives of commuters and pedestrians.
J&K Police urges the public, especially youth, to adhere strictly to traffic regulations, wear helmets and seat belts, avoid over speeding and carry all valid documents while riding or driving. The department remains committed to maintaining road discipline and ensuring a safer commute for all.
J&K Police seeks the cooperation of citizens in creating a safer and more responsible traffic environment.
Ganderbal, November 23: Police in Ganderbal during a special drive against traffic violations, detained nine (09) teenagers found performing dangerous and life-threatening stunts on the National Highway (NHW).
During the action, police also seized five (05) modified motorcycles with concealed rear registration number plates, in violation of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The apprehended teenagers will be handed over to their families after proper counselling and execution of a good-behaviour bond to ensure that such acts are not repeated in the future.
J&K Police urges parents to remain vigilant and advises youth to refrain from such unsafe practices that endanger their own lives as well as public safety.
Awantipora, November 22: Police have busted an illegal operation involving the unauthorized sale of petroleum products, resulting in the seizure of a large quantity of fuel in Awantipora.
Acting on a specific tip-off regarding illegal storage of petroleum products, Police in Awantipora, headed by Incharge Police Post Reshipora, under the supervision of SDPO Awantipora, conducted a raid at the residence of Mohd Shafi Rather son of Gh Mohd Rather resident of Malangpora A/P Sonrigund. During the search, the police team recovered 1750 Liters of petroleum products (950 litres of Diesel and 800 litres of Kerosene), which were being stored unlawfully at the said location.
Accordingly, a Case vide FIR No. 256/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Awantipora and investigation has been initiated.
Police urges the general public to report any such illegal activities and reiterates its commitment to act firmly against violations that endanger public safety and contravene government regulations.
BANDIPORA, NOVEMBER 21: Government Degree College Hajin, in collaboration with Wildlife SOS, on Thursday organized a Wildlife Conservation Outreach Program.
The initiative aimed to sensitize students about the significance of biodiversity with a special focus on wildlife conservation, rising man–animal conflicts, and the preventive measures essential for maintaining ecological balance.
The program was presided over by the Principal GDC Hajin, Prof. (Dr.) Gazala Firdous, who encouraged students to actively participate in conservation activities.
Resource person from Wildlife SOS delivered a detailed and insightful presentation on wildlife conservation, explaining the ecological importance of various species and the threats they face due to habitat loss, poaching, climate change, and increasing human encroachments. His session included visual aids and case studies that helped students understand the gravity of the situation.
Resource person presented an extensive lecture focusing primarily on man–animal conflicts, their causes, and practical measures that communities and authorities can adopt to mitigate these conflicts. The importance of coexistence, proper waste management, early warning systems, and community-based conservation practices were stressed.
The outreach program concluded with an engaging question–and–answer session, during which students discussed various wildlife-related concerns relevant to the region.
The program proved to be highly informative, enriching, and impactful, successfully achieving its objective of raising awareness about biodiversity protection and fostering responsible environmental attitudes among the students.
Srinagar, November 21: As part of the ongoing 11-day Audit Diwas celebrations, the Office of the Principal Accountant General (Audit), J&K, organised a comprehensive awareness programme titled “Leveraging e-Office, OIOS Toolkits, and Data Analytics for Efficiency” at the auditorium of the Government College of Education (IASE), M.A. Road, Srinagar.
The programme, which began at 10:30 AM, aimed to enhance coordination between Drawing and Disbursing Officers (DDOs), Treasury officials, and Pension authorities. A special focus was laid on equipping employees—particularly those nearing superannuation—with the knowledge required for digital submission and processing of pension papers, ensuring transparency, accuracy, and ease of workflow.
The event was presided over by Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naaz, Principal of the institution, as the Chief Guest, and Shri Pawan Kumar Rathi, Deputy Accountant General, as the Special Guest.
In her address, Prof. (Dr.) Seema Naaz emphasized the importance of such initiatives in strengthening employee preparedness in an era of rapidly evolving digital governance systems. She stated that awareness programmes of this nature significantly contribute to enhancing institutional efficiency and employee welfare.

BENGALURU, NOVEMBER 21: Startups supported by the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) participated in the prestigious Bengaluru Tech Summit (BTS) 2025, held in Bangalore from November 18 to 20, 2025.
This year’s edition was one of the largest ever, with organisers reporting participation from more than 10,000 startups representing 60 countries. The J&K startups began their showcase with a high-energy Day 1, marked by strong engagement with industry leaders, potential partners and sector experts.
The summit, featuring international exhibitors from Italy, Russia, Israel, Germany, Australia and Korea, offered unmatched exposure, learning and global networking opportunities for the participating entrepreneurs from J&K. The J&K pavilion attracted a huge crowd, drawing praise, curiosity and appreciation from the visitors and global participants.
Seven J&K startups supported by JKEDI participated in the 3-day long Tech Summit.
A key highlight was the visit of Ari Gargir, CEO and Founder of RED C Biotech, who interacted with the J&K startup founders and showed keen interest in their innovative solutions. Besides, interactions with the Industry Leaders was the spotlight of the event where Sheenmart E-Com, a JKEDI-sponsored startup, held promising discussions with AutoL Korea, a global leader in compact long-range LiDAR technology. The dialogue focused on exploring collaborative opportunities in advanced sensing and smart mobility solutions.
Entrepreneur Sheikh Yameen of Curv Electric (Heaventure Adventures Limited) engaged with Micheal Nenner, CEO of Charge, on technology integration aimed at improving the efficiency and performance of electric vehicles. SCANIMO Technologies, a promising startup from J&K established a technical connect with Jio Mart Retail Stores who evinced interest to integrate the former’s technology in their stores.
Throughout the summit, the startups from J&K attracted the visitors and potential partners, establishing meaningful connections and working to translate these engagements into tangible collaborations. Parallel meetings and networking sessions took place as the J&K delegation proactively explored opportunities for growth and strategic partnerships.
Officials from the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Business Modelling (CIIBM) a program vertical of JKEDI including Faheem ul Din Malik, Associate Project Manager (APM), JKEDI and Sorab Mengi, Assistant Manager (F&A), JKEDI attended the summit, facilitating the interaction between startups and the industry leaders, under the overall supervision of the Secretary Industries and Commerce Department and Director, JKEDI, Khalid Jahangir. They also discussed the prospective knowledge sharing and collaborations with the counterparts like Startup Tamil Nadu in the future.
The startups, supported by Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) shared their experiences and key takeaways. They applauded the role of JKEDI for being the prospective enabler between the vast startup market place and the aspiring entrepreneurs of the UT of J&K.
The presence of JKEDI-supported startups at BTS 2025 reflects the growing innovation capability and entrepreneurial drive emerging from Jammu & Kashmir. The JKEDI remains committed towards empowering startups and helping them compete, collaborate and grow on national and global platforms.

Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi has been elected from Budgam Assembly constituency while Devyani Rana has been elected from Nagrota constituency.
Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi took oath in Urdu and Devyani Rana had oath in Dogri.
